Lynda Murray - alto and sopranino saxophones
Lynda has been playing modern jazz in East Sussex for more that 30 years and is no stranger to Bexhill. Her quartet opened for Courtney Pine when he first came to the De La Warr Pavilion and again she put together a group to play some swing jazz in the foyer at the De La Warr's birthday celebrations.
October 2006 Lynda organised a 2-day Jazz Festival in Hastings.
Julian Joseph (piano and jazz broadcaster) was a headline act and Lianne Carroll (vocals) sat in and delighted the audience with an impromptu rendition of Duke Ellington's Caravan.
She feels the time is right to run a jazz club in Bexhill.
Naomi Kilby - vocals
Naomi is Lynda's daughter and is a trained vocalist specialising in opera. Having grown up with jazz and sitting in with her mother's jazz groups she can sing songs from the American Songbook with ease.
Adrian York MA - piano
Adrian is a composer, jazz pianist, producer, broadcaster, academic and writer based near Lewes. He regularly plays solo piano at the Groucho Club London and accompanies many jazz/soul/RB singers, most recently playing for Mari Wilson at Cadogan Hall London and the Swinging Blue Jeans in Helsinki.
Paul Whitten - double bass
Ex Chet Baker bassist
Paul has been playing with Lynda for more than twenty years.
Promoters of the Swanage Jazz Festival notably say "Paul is one of the best jazz bassists in the South of England".
She can only agree. He is one of the best bass players that she has worked with. Paul is a popular sideman playing for many Brighton based ensembles e.g.
Terry Seabrook Trio, Chris Coull Quartet, Jason Henson Trio and Adrian York Trio.
